In Florence, we made art and history accessible with hands-on museum visits, gelato breaks, and kid-friendly walking tours. Venice captured their imaginations with gondola rides, colorful alleyways, and ferry trips to Murano and Burano. Rome was a mix of ancient wonders and modern charm, where the Colosseum, Vatican, and Trevi Fountain were balanced by open piazzas perfect for play and pizza. Along the Amalfi Coast, we navigated the winding coastline with ease, finding family-friendly beaches and scenic boat rides from Positano and Capri. In Puglia, we stayed in traditional trulli homes, relaxed on quiet Adriatic beaches, and enjoyed the region’s welcoming, family-first atmosphere. Every stop was filled with moments of awe, comfort, and connection—proof that Italy can be unforgettable at any age.

We’ve traveled to London and its surrounding areas with our kids multiple times, uncovering both iconic sights and hidden gems that make family travel seamless and enjoyable. From exploring the Tower of London and watching the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace to riding the London Eye and navigating the city via double-decker buses and the Underground, we’ve curated kid-friendly experiences that balance fun and culture. Outside the city, we’ve ventured to charming towns like Windsor to tour the royal castle, and taken day trips to places like Oxford and the Cotswolds for countryside adventures. Our firsthand knowledge helps families avoid the overwhelm and focus on what really matters—making unforgettable memories together.

Another fantastic destination that we have enjoyed with our kids. We have spent time in Paris, Lyon and the French Riviera. There are lots of places to exploreOur family adventures through France have taken us from world-famous landmarks to serene countryside escapes—all with young children in tow. In Paris, we balanced cultural highlights like the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Notre-Dame with plenty of playtime in charming parks like Jardin du Luxembourg and Tuileries. Boat rides along the Seine and crepes in cozy cafés made the city as enjoyable for the kids as it was for us. In the South of France, we based ourselves in Nice, using it as a jumping-off point to explore beach towns like Villefranche-sur-Mer and Antibes, as well as hilltop villages like Èze and St-Paul-de-Vence. The pace was relaxed and the Mediterranean vibe perfect for families. Lyon surprised us with its mix of old-world charm and kid-friendly activities, including puppet shows and the sprawling Parc de la Tête d’Or. In Provence, we soaked in the scent of lavender fields, wandered through markets in towns like Gordes and Roussillon, and let the kids roam freely among vineyards and Roman ruins. From city thrills to countryside calm, France offered a little magic for everyone in the family.

Portugal
Portugal quickly became one of our favorite family-friendly destinations, offering a perfect blend of vibrant cities, scenic coastlines, and relaxed countryside living. In Lisbon, we explored the city’s hills by historic tram, wandered through the colorful streets of Alfama, and let the kids run free in riverside plazas and lookout points with sweeping views. The nearby town of Sintra, with its fairytale palaces and forests, was a huge hit. In Porto, we enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere along the Douro River, visited interactive museums, and took boat rides that captivated the whole family. Down south in the Algarve, we discovered golden beaches with calm waters perfect for young swimmers, dramatic sea caves, and coastal hikes that were both stroller-friendly and breathtaking. The Portuguese countryside, from the Alentejo’s open landscapes to the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, offered quiet escapes where we could slow down and enjoy authentic food, warm hospitality, and meaningful family time. Portugal’s ease of travel, affordability, and welcoming culture made it a destination we were glad to experience with kids—and one we recommend wholeheartedly.

Greece has been one of our most enriching and rewarding destinations to explore with kids, offering a mix of history, natural beauty, and warm hospitality that makes family travel feel easy and memorable. From there, we island-hopped to places like Santorini, where we found family-friendly beaches, cliffside walks, and breathtaking sunsets, and Paros, which offered a perfect blend of charm, accessible towns, and relaxing days by the sea. On Crete, we delved into mythology at the Palace of Knossos, enjoyed delicious Cretan cuisine, and explored both mountain villages and stunning beaches like Elafonissi. Inland, we traveled to Meteora, where the kids marveled at the monasteries perched atop giant rock pillars—an awe-inspiring and peaceful retreat from the coast. We also ventured to Corfu, located on the west coast, which combined lush greenery, Venetian-style architecture, and calm, shallow beaches perfect for young swimmers. Across the Greek mainland and islands, every stop offered a unique blend of adventure, culture, and connection—proving that Greece is just as magical for kids as it is for adults.

Spain offered our family an unforgettable mix of food, culture, coastline, and fun—making it one of the easiest and most exciting countries we’ve traveled through with kids. In Barcelona, we marveled at Gaudí’s whimsical architecture, picnicked in Parc de la Ciutadella, and spent sunny afternoons at the beach just steps from the city center. Madridsurprised us with its family-friendly energy—from puppet shows in Retiro Park to interactive museums and tapas shared late into the evening in lively plazas. In San Sebastián, we found the perfect blend of gourmet food and laid-back beach time, with calm waters for swimming and old town charm for exploring. The Costa del Sol gave us endless sunshine and resort-style ease, where days were filled with beach fun, whitewashed villages like Mijas, and day trips to places like Ronda and Granada. Throughout the country, we also uncovered lesser-known gems—from historic cities like Seville and Toledo to the dramatic landscapes of Asturias and Andalusia. Spain’s rhythm, warmth, and diversity made it ideal for family travel, offering something for every age and interest—whether exploring castles, sampling churros, or simply enjoying the late-night buzz of Spanish life together.

Switzerland
Switzerland was a dream destination for our family—clean, efficient, breathtakingly beautiful, and incredibly easy to navigate with kids. We started in Zurich, where we explored lakefront parks, interactive museums, and charming old town streets, all easily walkable even with little ones. In Lucerne, the iconic Chapel Bridge, medieval towers, and a scenic boat ride across Lake Lucerne created picture-perfect moments the kids still talk about. Bern offered a mix of history and fun, with its bear park, fountains, and walkable old town full of hidden corners to explore. In Geneva, we enjoyed international flair with lakeside walks, science museums, and views of Mont Blanc in the distance. The adventure really ramped up in Interlaken, where we accessed some of the most stunning alpine experiences by train and cable car—including the Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn. The mountain funiculars and cogwheel railways were highlights themselves—turning every journey into an adventure, especially for kids. Whether hiking, sledding, or simply enjoying chocolate and cheese in a postcard-perfect village, Switzerland gave us both thrilling moments and peaceful family time in a way few countries can match.

Mexico
Mexico has been one of our favorite destinations for a mix of relaxation, culture, and adventure—offering incredibly family-friendly options across its diverse regions. In Cabo San Lucas, we enjoyed resort-style comfort with swimmable beaches, boat rides to the iconic Arch, and plenty of water activities that kept the kids smiling all day. Puerto Vallartagave us a charming mix of ocean and culture, where we walked the Malecón, explored the old town, and enjoyed authentic food and sunset views right from the beach. On the Caribbean side, Cancún and Tulum delivered warm turquoise waters, family-friendly resorts, and unforgettable day trips to cenotes, Mayan ruins, and eco-parks like Xcaret. We also explored Mexico City, a surprisingly great city for kids, filled with colorful markets, sprawling parks like Chapultepec (with its zoo and museums), and hands-on learning at places like Papalote Children’s Museum. Across Mexico, we’ve found that locals warmly embrace families, the food is both adventurous and accessible, and the pace allows for both cultural immersion and easy downtime. Whether you’re looking for beach days, historic ruins, or vibrant city life, Mexico delivers it all—making it a destination we return to again and again with our kids.

Hawaii
Hawaii has been one of our most magical family destinations—offering a blend of adventure, relaxation, and natural wonder that’s perfect for traveling with kids. Each island brings something unique, but Kauai and the Big Island have become our favorites. In Kauai, we found untouched beauty and a slower pace that allowed us to truly connect as a family. We explored the Napali Coast by boat, hiked kid-friendly trails through lush rainforests, and spent peaceful afternoons on calm beaches like Hanalei Bay and Poipu. The island’s small towns and welcoming vibe made it easy to relax while still feeling immersed in nature.
On the Big Island, the diversity of experiences was unmatched—from visiting Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where our kids were amazed by steaming craters and lava tubes, to snorkeling in crystal-clear waters at Kealakekua Bay. We explored black sand beaches, saw sea turtles up close, and watched the stars from Mauna Kea’s slopes. Beyond these two, we’ve also enjoyed Oahu’s mix of city life and famous surf spots, Maui’s scenic drives and whale watching, and Lanai’soff-the-grid feel. Hawaii makes travel with kids seamless—welcoming, safe, and full of unforgettable experiences for all ages.

Mallorca and Ibiza
Mallorca and Ibiza have been two of our most surprisingly family-friendly destinations in Europe—offering more than just their party reputations and instead delivering a perfect mix of natural beauty, culture, and relaxed island life that works incredibly well with kids.
In Mallorca, we found everything from charming hill towns like Valldemossa and Sóller to stunning beaches with calm, shallow waters perfect for young swimmers. We explored caves like Cuevas del Drach, rode vintage wooden trains, and hiked scenic coastal trails that were easy to manage with kids. The island’s capital, Palma, offered just the right balance of history, shopping, and great food, all within walking distance of the beach.
Ibiza, often known for nightlife, completely surprised us with its peaceful countryside, quiet coves, and welcoming villages. We stayed in the family-friendly northern part of the island, where we found gorgeous beaches like Cala Llenyaand Cala Nova, perfect for sandcastle building and gentle swimming. We visited local markets, enjoyed sunset dinners by the sea, and took short boat rides to nearby islands like Formentera. Both islands are easy to navigate, safe, and filled with opportunities for adventure and relaxation—making them perfect for families looking for a Mediterranean escape with kids.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam is an incredibly family-friendly city that blends charm, culture, and ease of travel in a way that makes exploring with kids both fun and stress-free. The compact layout, efficient public transportation, and walkable (or bikeable) neighborhoods make it easy to get around, even with little ones in tow. The city has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and we’ve found locals to be friendly and accommodating to families. Whether strolling along the canals, enjoying the parks, or discovering kid-friendly museums and attractions, Amsterdam offers a great balance of play and learning. It’s a destination we’ve returned to more than once with our kids—and each visit feels just as effortless and rewarding as the last.

Belgium
Belgium is a wonderful destination for families, offering a mix of medieval charm, modern convenience, and kid-friendly experiences in cities like Brussels, Bruges, and Ghent. The country is easy to navigate, with short travel times between cities, making it ideal for families who want to see and do a lot without spending too much time in transit.
Brussels offers a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere with plenty of open squares, delicious food (especially waffles and chocolate!), and a relaxed pace that’s great for kids. Bruges feels like a storybook town with its canals, cobblestone streets, and charming architecture—perfect for slow exploration. Ghent strikes a nice balance between the two, with a lively energy, historic beauty, and a welcoming local vibe. Across all three cities, we found Belgium to be clean, safe, and full of small surprises that made traveling with kids both easy and enjoyable.
