It’s a destination we’ve returned to more than once with our kids—and each visit feels just as effortless and rewarding as the last.

The country is easy to navigate, with short travel times between cities, making it ideal for families who want to see and do a lot without spending too much time in transit.

Brussels offers a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere with plenty of open squares, delicious food (especially waffles and chocolate!), and a relaxed pace that’s great for kids. Bruges feels like a storybook town with its canals, cobblestone streets, and charming architecture—perfect for slow exploration. Ghent strikes a nice balance between the two, with a lively energy, historic beauty, and a welcoming local vibe. Across all three cities, we found Belgium to be clean, safe, and full of small surprises that made traveling with kids both easy and enjoyable.
